Merchandising & Marketing Specialist -- Full Time

Location: Downtown Toronto

Profile

As the Merchandising & Design Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of Merchandising, Design & Digital Marketing campaigns for FlipGive.

This is a great opportunity for someone that is looking to broaden their exposure, and deepen their knowledge and practical background in eCommerce & Merchandising, Affiliate Marketing and Digital Marketing within the loyalty space.

The ideal candidate is intersectional and possesses hybrid talents or inclination in business/technology, research/data, retail/consumer psychology and design.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily link and program administration, including updating various program and network-level links, and data fields in FlipGive System Admin
  • Daily creation/administration of Shop Offers, Brands, Collections, Products, Departments, Storefronts and Occasions in FlipGive System Admin
  • Bi-Weekly merchant onboarding and coordination/administration of various Merchant and FlipGive-led Promotions
  • Weekly Program and Network Operations support, including Term updates and Missing Transaction (MTs) monitoring/recouping
  • Weekly Merchandising/MARCOM executions, including coordination of merchant sponsorships and banner/product link administration in Occasions/Blog/Content, as well as administration and coordination of Email/App Broadcasts/Social posts
  • Weekly report generation and participation in MARCOM/KPI meetings (exposure to Mixpanel and Google Analytics)
  • Administration of Seasonal Merchandising Programs (B2S, Holiday, BF/CM, Gift Guides, Bonus Cash Events, Team Purchases), Digital Marketing Campaigns and A/B Growth Test projects
  • Some graphic design manipulations to support Merchant Onboarding, Sponsorships and Seasonal Merchandising/MARCOM Campaigns
  •  

    We are looking for someone who has

  • Entry level experience in related fields: Brand or Retail Marketing, eCommerce, Affiliate Marketing, Digital Marketing, Design, Mobile App, Startup/Technology Business, Design, Technology or Science/Research post-secondary program graduate
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft or Google Office, HTML
  • Soft skills: high performer, polished/high work ethic, smart learner/fast producer, flexible, organized, high initiative, intersectional: jack of all trades (and eager to master some)

    Digital Marketing Specialist, CRM -- Full Time

    With the support of the VP Marketing, the CRM Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for building, implementing, and executing FlipGive’s behavioural communication strategy including all direct communications and rewards that will engage members throughout every stage of their journey with us.

    FlipGive is a free team funding app that makes raising money a breeze. Teams earn cash back for buying the things they already need. Get paid whenever you shop, dine out, book hotels or activities.

     

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    Behavioural Communications

  • Implement and optimize a cross-channel lifecycle plan (with a heavy focus on email) to engage members throughout their entire journey with FlipGive while improving key lifetime value metrics
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design, test and effectively deploy all automated messaging programs including email, team feed messages, push notifications and remarketing.
  • Work with internal creative teams to develop content and contribute to copywriting, as needed
  • Develop technical requirements for all programs, as needed
  • Build and QA emails and workflows within our ESP
  • Track, measure and report on results
  • Monitor best practices and competitor activities related to customer lifecycle marketing
  • Identify and test initiatives (content, offers, messages) to help drive member activation and retention
  • Manage email tools and relationship with ESP to support consistent and appropriate engagement with members
  •  

    Targeted Offers + Promotions

  • Implement, execute and optimize a broad-based offers/retention program
  • Work collaboratively with data analytics team to develop campaigns and programs for targeting specific members and segments
  • Collaborate with internal groups (creative/design, merchandising, member success and development teams) to effectively deploy initiatives
  • Track, measure and report on results
  • Identify opportunities and new strategies to drive business growth for FlipGive
  •  

     

    WHAT DO YOU NEED?

  • 3-5 years of lifecycle marketing experience in a high growth, customer-focussed environment
  • Strong familiarity and passion for data-driven CRM — you’re a performance driven marketer with experience creating and executing plans after analyzing customer behavior
  • Experience building and deploying segmented email campaigns is required
  • Experience with segmentation, lifecycle marketing and funnel analysis. Proven ability to drive action from analysis
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a roll-up-the-sleeves work ethic - must be comfortable with ambiguity and rapid rates of change
  • A natural curiosity with an eagerness to learn
  • A strong communicator and ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment

    Sr. Ruby Integrations Developer -- Full Time

    The Role

    A core piece of FlipGive’s platform are the integrations made to affiliate networks, giftcard providers, merchant partners, Shopify and other partnerships. These integrations process and track all sales on the platform and are responsible for determining the cash back which are users receive. We are looking for a Sr. Ruby Developer to help build and maintain integrations with an emphasis on reliability and accuracy. This person should enjoy working with APIs, processing data, and reporting/monitoring.

    Key responsibilities

    • Build and maintain API integrations
    • Process data with emphasis on reliability and accuracy
    • Create reports to assess integration health
    • Detect anomalies and errors in data processing pipeline
    • Write easily understandable and maintainable code
    • Extend the FlipGive Shopify app
    • Perform code reviews (PRs)
    • Improve processes and tools to help the development team work more efficiently
    • Assist in making tests faster and better

    Requirements

    • 6+ years of work experience
    • Experience building and operating production web services
    • Proficient with Ruby and Rails
    • Understanding of REST APIs
    • A serious tester that strives for thorough test coverage
    • Understanding databases and can write efficient queries
    • Working knowledge of React and front-end development

    Nice To Have

    • Some integrations rely on SOAP, a working knowledge is a plus (easily handled with Savon gem)
    • Knowledge of Shopify and its APIs
    • Experience with GraphQL
    • ML knowledge to detect anomalies, errors, and trends
    • Have built reporting dashboards to display system health and trends
